Peace and stability matters to every single person on this planet. We want to work toward giving everyone the opportunity – in their homes and in their community - to come together to strive for that peace.
Through world@peace mini programmes and global peace relays, people will have the opportunity to learn, express and lead initiatives in their community and the wider world.
Working with local and national communities, youth organisations, victims organisations, law enforcement and foundations we will build and co-create programmes that will help to put an end to senseless bloodshed. Gun and knife crime, domestic violence and bullying blight our communities and destroy the lives of many before they can reach their potential.
Universities have for centuries been at the heart of building a better, more prosperous and peaceful world. Together with these institutions globally we want to partner in research and projects aimed at tackling violence and mental dysfunction.Research shows that students no longer feel safe at many institutions. Reported cases of sexual other violent assaults and bullying have escalated dramatically in recent years. Together we will investigate and build partnerships of protection to help rebuild the peace and security that students need to flourish and reach their full academic and social potential.
We are formed as people by our parents and close family, our local community and our school environment. Good teachers inspire us to be our best, broaden our outlook and demonstrate how we should aim to live good and successful lives of peace and prosperity.
It is in school that many of our key thoughts and outlooks are formed. But in this place of security we can also face bullying and discrimination.
Building on the work of a legendary educator Derek Peaple we will be presenting mini world@peace programmes that allow schoolchildren and their schools to examine personal values and attributes, their application to safe and respectful school environments and how to carry these forward to adulthood from our local to global communities.
Derek Peaple and Mike Molloy launched World Peace School Sports Day in 2022 to allow children around the world to celebrate peace and, in its first year, to raise money for the people of Ukraine. Building on this original vision, Young people around the world will be invited to join together in a ‘festival of peace’ from April 6th (UN world day for sport and development) to UN World Peace Day in September 2023. We ask that schools, youth and sports clubs, sports players of all levels, and their teams take part in a ‘global relay for peace’.By passing the baton of peace or a football or other sports object, and then speaking a few words on why peace matters, and then sharing through social média; you will have the chance to express the value of peace from our homes right through to our global community.
Bringing together schools, sports teams, organisations and entities globally working together in partnership for peace will send the message to despots and dictators that the youth of the world have a voice and they will make it heard.
Music at its best speaks to the soul. Whether Mozart or Beethoven, Lennon or McCartney music has always been a source of solace and calm in a troubled world. We invite that world and all who love music to come together for peace.
Starting with those young people who have a vocation to serve and protect our communities in the Police and other agencies we want to build partnerships for peace between law enforcement, youth organisations and their local communities.
Police forces reflect the societies in which they operate and many have themselves struggled with cases of racism, mysogny and other discrimination. Our work and programmes together will be designed to make a new compact for peace with modern diverse committed young people who want to fight crime and save lives.
Businesses want to operate in a stable environment, with a safe and secure workforce. Businesses of all sizes can work with us to help build non violent homes, streets and communities. Large regional players and multinationals in particular have a special role to play in bringing expertise in national and global reconciliation to people and cultures around the world.
Our deepest beliefs shape our view of the world, and our cultures and societies often reflect the major religions active in our communities. Religious leaders such as Desmond Tutu and Martin Luther King have been critical peace-builders, and much work is underway right now within and between the major faiths to promote peacefulness and respect locally and globally. BelieveInPeace will work to support, advocate for & facilitate these laudable initiatives.
Peacefulness, resilience and our ability to contribute to society relies on our mental states. Mind@Peace will connect experts and leaders in mindfulness and psychlogy with communities, colleges, businesses and families to support inner peace as a foundation for external, community and world peace.
Through our different programmes in schools, campuses, sports, music, business and elsewhere we want to contribute to the resolution of some of the worlds most serious remaining problems.
